Spring's Story

Spring is a very special 9 year old harlequin rabbit that was recently surrendered to our rescue (January 2026) because his elderly owners were moving and not able to bring him along with them. We are very thankful that Spring ended up with us - unfortunately his owners were not well educated by the pet store that he was purchased from, and Spring has been living in less than ideal conditions for the last 9 years. He also was not offered any hay for the last 8 years, which is an essential component of a rabbit’s diet. We were concerned that Spring could have had serious dental issues as a result - but this lucky guy had a good vet exam recently, with normal lab work and a good dental exam. Spring does have some arthritis which he is on medication and a supplement for. He will need to be kept on soft padded bedding and given lots of TLC.
