Sophie's Story
Sophie is a cautious bunny who takes a while to warm up to new people and places. She may seem aggressive when you first approach her but with floor time, routine meals and hand feeding she can warm up to her new family. She's good with the litterbox but may need time to adjust.

Sophie melts for her favorite treats and may allow head pats while being served oats, which she absolutely can't resist. She enjoys foraging in hay for dried fruits, treats or oats. Hiding out to take long naps and rationing her veggies and pellets to eat at a later time is pretty common behavior for her. She doesn't drink much water so having fresh veggies always available would be ideal.

Sophie is not a big chewer but is curious and may leap to new spaces so bunny proofing is still important. In place of chew toys she enjoys tunnels and hideouts. She likes to free roam so she can have different nap spots throughout the day.

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out our on-line adoption application at the following link. https://www.rabbitsinthehouse.org/adoption-application

The application is not a commitment to adopt. It's just a place to start: to let us know you are interested, to give us some information to properly advise you, and to help us keep track of people who have contacted us about adoption. The questions are designed so that we have consistent information from each adopter. Sometimes just emailing back and forth or talking on the phone we might forget to ask something. The form has been a big help for us. You must be at least 18 to adopt from us.
