Shrek & Fiona

Hi there! We are Shrek and Fiona- an unlikely couple that couldn't be more opposite- but we work so well together!<br/><br/>I'm Fiona, let me tell you a little bit about myself... I came to Blue Barn as part of a 17 rabbit surrender. Me and all of my babies- I had 24 babies all together, though, some didn't make it because I couldn't keep up with all of the mouths to feed! I was in terrible shape- emaciated, bald (from making so many nests) and totally postpartum. Blue Barn Rescue took me in and put me in a quiet place to decompress, gave me lots of food and slowly, I started to feel like a rabbit again! My coat grew back smooth and shiny, my ribs no longer show and I was spayed so I never have to worry about having babies again, Phew! I was lonely though, but I couldn't stand being around my needy children, so Blue Barn introduced me to Shrek. He's a perfect friend for me; a big calm teddy bear that makes me feel safe. My personality is really shining through now! I am funny, smart and curious and brave and I absolutely LOVE people big and small! I love to explore and play, but I can also snuggle all day! Now, at under 1.5 years old, 4.5 lbs and perfectly healthy, all I hope for is a fresh start in a loving forever home with Shrek.<br/><br/>Hi, I'm Shrek. My old owners dumped me, my 4 littermates and my mom at a city shelter when I was only 3 months old. My mother and I were not doing well there, so, Blue Barn Rescue took us in. I was so scared, but they were really nice to me. They made me feel better and I started eating again. I was pretty lonely and sad though because my whole life was turned upside down. I'm kind of shy and nervous to start, so I had totally shut down, and didn't trust people anymore. Thats when I met Fiona. She is kind of like a mom, and kind of like a friend to me, and made me feel safe. We went to a foster home with a really nice family, and they showed me that people aren't scary, in fact, they are quite wonderful, and now I want to sit on my person's lap and snuggle all day! I am a big boy compared to Fiona, I am already 7 lbs at 10 months old, but I am a gentle giant and all I want now is a loving home with Fiona.<br/><br/>We are spayed and neutered, and use the litter box religiously.
