Pearl's Story
Pearl appears to be a New Zealand White / Lionhead cross, she was born in the summer of 2022. She was raised in a barn without much (if any) handling .

We have discovered that Pearl seems to be afraid of her water bowl being moved and will aggressively try to knock it out of your hand if you have to move it. I suspect someone hit her with her water bowl in the past. Pearl often grunts and charges (sometimes scratching with her front feet but never biting) when we have to be in her cage (adding hay, taking out old hay, refilling her water bowl, etc). She will need an experienced handler willing to earn her trust! Pearl is not spayed, which could help with her temperament issues. She is not child safe, but we suspect with a little work she could be a nice adult-only pet. She is curious, and does play with chew toys in her cage. She would like to be a "look at me" pet and not so much a "touch me" pet. Experienced handlers only. She's being considered a project rabbit due to the fear-based aggression (grunting and charging - has never actually bit anyone). Her adoption fee has been lowered to just $10 plus a $20 refundable* spay deposit ($30 total) to an approved indoor pet-only (non-breeding) home.

*Spay deposits are refundable if proof of surgical sterilization is returned within 30 days of adoption.
