Pansy's Story
Pansy is a stunning black rabbit with a shiny, satin coat. She is about 6 lbs and was born a few days after her stray mom, Autumn was rescued in October of 2014. Mom and six babies were so bonded, they were adopted together and their family converted a huge room with air conditioning and heat to be the rabbit room so they could live safely indoors with plenty of space. The family can no longer keep their rabbits and is looking for new homes. She can be adopted with mom or a sibling for people looking for more than one rabbit without the work of the introduction.

*Introducing rabbits safely can be a challenge and doesn't always work if the rabbits are not compatible. We recommend people interested in having more that one rabbit take advantage of adopting a pair already bonded.

If you need more information about rabbits before the next event or would like to attend an adoption event, see the information below:

We do not have a shelter to introduce our foster rabbits and our volunteers have limited time to respond to all online inquiries, so the best way to meet one of our rabbits is to attend our next adoption day. Sometimes people bond to a different rabbit in person than the one they choose online.
**If you send an inquiry, be sure to include information about your interest in a rabbit, experience level, current household (family and other pets), and planned space for a new rabbit. The more information you provide will help get a faster response.

Current bunny parents are encouraged to bring their rabbits to adoption clinics if they are interested in adopting a companion rabbit. Your rabbit must be spayed or neutered to be eligible to meet one of our fosters. SHRS volunteers will be happy to help your bunny through that feisty first date.

Everyone is welcome to stop by for conversation, problem-solving and free information!Adoption, Information, Fur and Nail Trimming Clinics:
The second (2nd) Saturday of each month except December held the first (1st) Saturday, we rotate between the following Petcos from 10:00 am and 3:00 pm (check our calendar to find our where we will be next!):
Arden Petco, 1878 Arden Way, (916) 923-1082
Fair Oaks Petco, 8840 Madison Ave., (916) 863-7387
Citrus Heights Petco, 6067 Greenback Lane, (916) 725-2556

*We trim nails during adoption day.
