Opal's Story
Introducing Opal, a precious little lady who has captured our hearts.

Opal is a beautiful tricolored Mini Lop x Lionhead lass who is approximately three years of age (as of December 2025). She was surrendered to Luna’s House when her previous caretakers no longer had time for her. When we saw the photos of the small cage in which Opal was being kept—that had sharp, broken wires pointing into her living space—we couldn’t get this little love into our care fast enough.

Understandably, Opal was shy and confused when she first arrived, but she is working on building confidence with the help of our volunteers. We are determined to make sure Opal knows that she is safe and adored with us, and that we will be certain to find the right forever home for her.

Because she is an anxious girl, we are seeking a home without small children for Opal. She would likely do well in a home with respectful dogs, cats, or older human kids, but has asked not to be placed with anyone too rambunctious, no matter how many legs they have.

If you would be interested in adopting a rabbit from Luna's House, please take a moment to fill out an online application: https://www.lunashouse.org/php_email_form/formphp.html

Once we have received and approved your completed application, we can schedule a time for you to come meet with rabbits available for adoption to see with whom you have the best connection. Our adoption fee for a single rabbit is $75. This is a donation meant to help us cover part of the cost of caring for the animal you are adopting while (s)he is with us, including veterinary exam, spay or neuter surgery, deworming, RHDV2 vaccination, microchip, food, bedding, etc.

Opal has been vaccinated against RHDV2.
