But fate intervened in the form of a kind Good Samaritan, who whisked her away from that harsh life and brought her to the safety of our shelter.

With a charming quirk — a little tear in her ear that tells tales of her previous, not-so-great existence — Nettle is now ready to hop into a brighter future. It’s a reminder of the battlefield she bravely survived, but it hasn’t dimmed her spirit! Instead, she’s using those experiences to inspire her journey of healing and growth, one juicy Cucumber at a time.

Despite her rough past, Nettle has shown us that love and friendship can mend even the deepest scars. Living in the shelter has gifted her with a wonderful bunny neighbor named May, with whom she has formed a delightful bond Between x-pens with.

Help us continue to ease Nettle’s past scars as she hops her way into a forever home filled with love, kindness, and endless treats. New Westminster Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN AN ANIMAL, please submit an application form. This is the FIRST step in the adoption process. Please do NOT email us just to express interest. https://www.newwestcity.ca/services/animal-services/animal-shelter Our animals have unique personalities and needs. Our goal is to find the most suitable home for them and the most suitable pet for you. We make every effort to place animals in “forever” homes so they don’t find themselves back in a shelter. They’ve already lost their home once, and we don’t want them to go through that again. All applications are reviewed by two shelter staff members. We also conduct a phone interview, at which time we will address any questions or concerns you may have. Typically, we are able to inform applicants within 72 hours. If your application has been approved, we will then schedule a time for you to come pick up your new family member!
