Minerva's Story

This little lady is a sweet, friendly girl. Though categorized as small, she is not a dwarf. As far as breeds, may be Polish mixed with a bit more medium breed - it's hard to tell exactly.

This poor sweet bunny along with the daddy bun, Pierre, were found dumped outside in a flimsy cardboard box way out the boonies. They escaped the box, of course. This little momma (who we later discovered was pregnant) was so scared she froze in place and accepted help. But Pierre ran off, terrified. The finders tried, but couldn't catch him. So they reached out to social media for help. One of our Rabbiteers saw their plea and we sent rescuers out with a trap. Thankfully, the frightened bun went into the trap overnight. Now both bunnies AND their two precious baby kits, born within days, are all safe and sound while they await the loving FURever and EVER home they always deserved.

Once Minerva gradually weaned her kits, she was spayed on 1/6/26. So she is ready for adoption and to start introducing her to another bunny to bond with.

We are always working with the rabbits to help them find their true bond-bun. Could your bunny be "THE Bun"? Or would you consider an already bonded pair? Fill out the application and, once approved, we'll schedule a Meet 'n' Greet to see if your household might be a bunderful match.

* Indoor Home Only *

Bunnies live an average of 8-10 years, but could live up to 16 or even longer! While they do enjoy gentle pets and head rubs, bunnies generally do not like to be picked up or held as they are prey animals and it can be very scary for them. They also need lots of space to move around, run, binky and play - so no small hutches nor cages. They are social animals who want to be with you and should be accepted as part of the family. They also thrive best in bonded pairs, especially during the hours you are otherwise occupied. They need vet visits just like a dog or cat and will require a yearly vaccination against RHDV2. This is a highly contagious and deadly virus.

Please do your research before adding any pet to your family. Visit rabbit.org and houserabbit.org for accurate, up-to-date bunny information. We are happy to answer any questions you may have before and after adoption, as well as assist in helping you decide whether bunnies are right for you. We offer ongoing support and encourage ongoing learning to ensure that you and your bunnies thrive.

Please find a place in your heart and home for unwanted, discarded rescue animals. Thank you for adopting, not shopping!
