Melba & Mel's Story
Melba and Mel are two of several rabbits I rescued from a residential neighborhood in Claremont. An irresponsible rabbit owners released their two rabbits into the neighborhood. Of course they mated, had babies and now innocent rabbits are roaming the streets. Some caring neighbors contacted me to come out (an hour away) and rescue the loose rabbits.

Melba is the orange mom with the adorable white button nose. She has an estimated date of birth of April 2021. She will beg for treats and pets by standing up on her back legs whole stretching out her head and paws to get your attention! So cute!

Her baby boy is Mel and the only survivor as the other baby bunnies didn't make it fending for themselves outside against predators and such. His estimated date of birth is September 1, 2021.

The first photo is of mom Melba and Mel as a baby. The other photo is of Mel as he has grown.

The bunnies should start out living in an exercise pen (x-pen) otherwise known as a puppy pen. They can have that as their home base or transition to a room or a section of a room or free roaming. A cage/hutch is not recommended unless the door is always open and an x-pen can be placed around it. Wire grid bottoms on cages/hutches and pull-out trays are not recommended. Towers, castles and tunnels are a preferred alternative to a cage/hutch. Please ask before you purchase supplies.

Please be over 21 if inquiring about a rabbit.

They can be seen by appointment in Lake Elsinore after a questionnaire is completed or a phone consultation conducted. Delivery is also available to the greater southern California area.

BENEFITS OF ADOPTION FROM KRIBS FOR KRITTERS RABBIT RESCUE:

* Lifetime free nail trims and scent gland cleaning
* Unparalleled rabbit education before you adopt
* Ongoing support after you adopt
* Starter hay and toys
* Reasonably priced boarding when you're on vacation

Don't have the items you need to welcome a bunny to your home?
