Matilda's Story

Matilda was surrendered by a family that no longer wanted her. The grandmother had purchased her as a gift for the granddaughter who was not taking proper care of her and the parents were not willing to pitch in.<br/><br/>So same old story. Matilda however is extremely friendly and loves people. She is a pretty harlequin color and is waiting to get spayed. ReHeart Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy

We require an adoption fee of $100 per rabbit and guinea pig. Cats are on a case by case basis. We also require a signed adoption contract with the understanding that the animal is to be returned to us if no longer wanted. The prospective adopter will need to have a phone interview with us and provide a veterinary reference if possible, plus one to two personal references. Lastly we require a home visit, which may sometimes be completed virtually, to check the habitat set up.
