Marilyn Bunroe's Story

✠̈ Marilyn Bunroe ✠̈

Oh, Marilyn. We love her so incredibly much. But we’ll be completely honest - beautiful girl isn’t a fit for everyone. She requires an adopter who is bunny savvy and knows how to interpret bunny language.

âž¡ï ̧ Marilyn has been with us for over a year. She was found out in the cold all alone and Good Samaritans brought her to safety. She showed evidence of having had babies previously (not recently though), but despite this she has made it clear that she is not a fan of other rabbits.

Marilyn waited patiently in our bunny room at PK while her fellow bunny friends around her were adopted into their furever homes. She became more and more unhappy and territorial as time went by. She had a select couple volunteers that she has bonded with, but even then she wasn’t always feeling in the mood for snuggles. The other buns in the room also seemed to upset her.

One of our dedicated fosters had their longterm foster rabbit get adopted and she said “I think I need to bring Marilyn home to foster”...and we are so glad she did! Almost instantly Marilyn began to flourish. She thrives off of having her own large space (in this case, her own bedroom at her foster’s) and truly does enjoy attention from humans. She still will show you her displeasure if you touch her when she doesn’t want you to, but she is such a happy girl when she has her own room to explore and settle in. She is now back at our shelter bunny room and is in the biggest pen in the room, which she enjoys.

❣ï ̧ We want to be fully transparent: Marilyn is a great and lovable girl! She does enjoy pets and attention from her humans. But she will absolutely bite as her defense mechanism if she is upset. However, with us knowing her triggers the sass can remain minimal. Her perfect adopter has bunny experience who knows how to speak Marilyn’s language.

Send us an email at rabbits@lvpeaceablekingdom.info to learn more and for our application!
