Kingston's Story
Kingston is a funny, energetic Dutch bunny. He was found running around a neighborhood all alone. Several attempts were made by neighbors and our volunteers to catch this quick and evasive little guy. He was finally caught TWICE and surrendered by his owner the second time, 4/27/2024. We were told then he was about 2 years young. Poor guy kept escaping from a lonely life in a back yard where he had been living in an outdoor hutch. He was completely covered in ticks! We have never even seen so many on a lil bunny!

It's time Kingston gets to know what real house bunny life is all about. Even at the rescue he is so grateful to be given a second chance at his best life that he rewards our Rabbiteers with kisses! He has such an amazing personality, we can't believe he's still here!

Kingston has been neutered and vaccinated and is ready to find his FURever home. He may be adopted as an only bunny. He has exhibited aggressive tendencies toward other male rabbits, so caution is needed when considering him for bonding. Though there's still a chance he could bond with the right bunny, a docile female perhaps. If he does seem to hit it off with somebun, we recommend a few Meet 'n' Greets with Kingston before continuing the bonding process at home.

We are always working with the rabbits to help them find their true bond-bun. Could your bunny be "THE Bun"? Or would you consider an already bonded pair? Fill out the application and, once approved, we'll schedule a Meet 'n' Greet to see if your household might be a bunderful match.

* Indoor Home Only *

Bunnies live an average of 8-10 years, but could live up to 16 or even longer! While they do enjoy gentle pets and head rubs, bunnies generally do not like to be picked up or held as they are prey animals and it can be very scary for them. They also need lots of space to move around, run, binky and play - so no small hutches nor cages. They are social animals who want to be with you and should be accepted as part of the family. They also thrive best in bonded pairs, especially during the hours you are otherwise occupied. They need vet visits just like a dog or cat and will require a yearly vaccination against RHDV2. This is a highly contagious and deadly virus.

Please do your research before adding any pet to your family. Visit rabbit.org for accurate, up-to-date bunny information. We are happy to answer any questions you may have before and after adoption, as well as assist in helping you decide whether bunnies are right for you. We offer ongoing support and encourage ongoing learning to ensure that you and your bunnies thrive.

Please find a place in your heart and home for unwanted, discarded shelter animals. Thank you for adopting, not shopping!
