Jake's Story

Meet handsome guy Jake! Jake was surrendered by his family to ADHS with a case of severe head tilt, his second round. He had recovered from his first case but then regressed. Jake has finished his medications while in a foster home and we’re hopeful that he’ll bounce back again or at least see his degree of head tilt lessened. It’s not impossible! Jake doesn’t realize that he’s different in any way from other rabbits. He’s a good eater, loves his greens and gives kisses. His beautiful brown fur is soft and glossy and he’s about 1 1/2 years old. Jake needs a forever home where time and patience can be devoted to his care. Alliston & District Humane Society's Adoption Policy

The animals for adoption are available on our website to view. https://allistonhumane.com/ The first step is the completion of an adoption application: https://allistonhumane.com/about-adoption. Applicants are assessed on the basis of their application and the needs of any specific animal. Meet and greets are set up to see if we have a match. We encourage the entire family to attend these meets, as well as other pets such as dogs. We can be overwhelmed with applications for individual dogs and you may not receive a return phone call if this is the case. If you wish to come and see animals with a private appointment, please call 705-458-9038 and leave a message on our adoption line. We also hold an open house the last Sunday of every month from 1-4pm. Please check our website for more information.
