Jacques's Story

I'm a relaxed rabbit and I like lounging around!
I'd love to help you recycle! Give me your paper towel / toilet paper tubes, cardboard boxes, or paper bags and I can have fun for hours!
I'm a bold bunny and I like to be the life of the party!
If I was a rapping rabbit, this is what I'd sing:
"They call me Good Bunny 'cause I'm just that sweet
Dropping mad beats, but not with my feet
Cuddles, fruit, and veggies are my favorite treat
Come to ACC, so we can meet!"

What my friends at ACC say about me:

My foster writes: Meet Jacques!
Jacques is an incredibly darling bunny with a naturally gentle disposition, making him a wonderful choice for a first-time rabbit adopter.
At 3.5 years old, he has been through more than any rabbit should, yet his sweetness has never dimmed. Jacques was first surrendered by his original owner, quickly adopted, and rescued as a stray after being rehomed without the shelter's knowledge. During that time, he suffered significant neglect and returned in heartbreaking condition - underweight (he lost half his body weight), with urine scald and sore hocks.
Today, Jacques is thriving. He's a healthy 5 lbs, his sore hocks have healed beautifully, and his fur has grown back soft and clean. His resilience is remarkable.
Given his history, Jacques is very food-motivated - he enthusiastically enjoys his hay, salad greens, and treats. This makes bonding easy and fun; he loves hand-feeding sessions and is wonderfully clever with enrichment toys. He's a pro at stacking cups and can clear a snuffle mat in minutes!
Jacques also has an adorable soft side. He is deeply devoted to his stuffed rabbit, which he grooms daily and proudly carries around during his happy little leaps and prances. He's generous with affection, offering frequent nose-boops to your ankle as he follows you around the home.
Although Jacques still needs to be neutered, he behaves beautifully for an unaltered male. He sticks to chewing his rabbit-safe toys and has excellent litter habits - about 90%, with just a few stray poops outside the box.
Jacques is ready for a loving home where he'll be cherished and where he can continue blossoming into the joyful, trusting bunny he's meant to be. If you're looking for a gentle, smart, affectionate rabbit with a heart full of resilience, Jacques is your boy.

A Volunteer writes: Jacques was returned to ACC after being found as a stray 4 months after his last adoption from this facility. He was in poor condition, having lost about half of his body weight and suffering from severe urine scald on his limbs and belly. Jacques has started to recover nicely, putting weight back on and healing his sore skin. Miraculously, his personality doesn't seem to have been affected greatly by his traumatic experience. Jacques' recovery would benefit tremendously from being adopted (or fostered) by a caring individual or family and he will be a great pet for the right person.
Primary Color: Black Weight: 5lbs Age: 3yrs 6mths 2wks

Come to ACC, so we can meet!"
