Houdini's Story
Meet Houdini! This energetic Mini Rex boy is ~8 months old and absolutely loves to jump and climb! He's quite agile and has managed to escape his pen on multiple occasions, which is how he ended up with his name. We've managed to keep him contained by putting a roof on his pen, so unless the goal is to have him free roam, we would highly recommend something like this to whoever adopts him.
In addition to running around and exploring, Houdini loves to be pet. After showing off his binkies, he will often come and flop next to his foster mom for some scritches. His favorite is being petted from forehead to back, and if you do it just right, he'll melt into a happy, tooth-purring puddle. The only thing Houdini loves more than pets and playing is food! He will do pretty much anything for food and is not picky when it comes to treats. He is an excellent hay eater, which makes him very thirsty, so he will need a large water bowl to stay adequately hydrated.
Houdini has been fixed and is currently working on litter training. He pees in the box, but we're still trying to get all the poops in the litter box. Given his friendly nature, he would likely do well in pretty much any home, including those with kids, cats, and/or dogs. The most important thing for Houdini is that he is given lots of attention and plenty of run time.
If you think you might be a good match for Houdini, please fill out an application at www.iowarabbitrescue.org/adopt.
