Meet Hope
Meet Hope! This sweet girl is being fostered in the Philadelphia area.
Hope and many of her brothers, sisters, and cousins were rescued from a feral colony that began when a backyard breeder began dumping their rabbits, leaving them to fend for themselves. When Hope came to the rescue, she was very underweight and scared. One of our foster parents brought her home and proceeded to dote on her and get her to a healthy weight. Despite her rough start in life, Hope is finally healthy and we're working on teaching her that humans aren't half bad!
As our rescue is foster-based, we've had the opportunity to observe Hope in different environments. Based on her time with us, we have hope (ha!) that in a quiet home where Hope can live in an xpen without being disturbed frequently, she will relax into the sweet bunny we've seen. She's naturally shy, but can learn to trust. When she feels safe, her personality starts to shine through and we've seen that Hope can be quite the little perfectionist! If her blankets aren't put in just right or she wants her hay in a different spot, she simply has to fix them and won't rest easy until it's done!
When Hope is stressed, she becomes spooked very easily and her behavior is more erratic. Because of her history, we know that Hope is prone to panic and will be one of those bunnies that requires a longer-than-average adjustment period in her new home. The perfect adopter will be someone prepared to give Hope those weeks and months to settle in and begin to relax before truly starting to build trust and work on bonding (whether that's with another rabbit, or just with you!).
If you're interested in adopting, please copy and paste the following link in order to fill out our pre-screening application: bunnybrigadepa.com/adoption-application We ask that you do not send multiple messages and allow our volunteers up to a week to respond. Thank you for your support and understanding!
