Felix's Story
About Felix:

Felix arrived into ORR’s care on April 21, 2025. He was surrendered to the rescue from a well meaning family who no longer had time for him. He had been housed outside in a large hutch with outdoor runs. While ORR advocates for rabbits to be housed indoors only, we appreciate the effort this family made to provide for their rabbits as best as they could.

Felix was housed alongside another male rabbit, Xander (who we also took into rescue). As they were not actually bonded and both were not neutered, they were kept seperate upon arrival into the rescue. He arrived into care as a healthy boy and his cute little dwarf charm immediately won his foster mom over.

Since arriving into rescue, Felix has received a full veterinary exam, has been neutered and vaccinated against RHDV2. He has really blossomed into a sweet, yet spunky boy. Please see the wonderful testimonial his foster mom has writen about him.

As he is the prince of darkness, photos do not do him justice, we promise you he is even more adorable in person!

Written by my foster mom, Janet:

“Hi, my name is Felix and I am a little black Netherland Dwarf with white twinkle toes; I am too cute for words but here it goes….

I was living by myself in an outdoor hutch and came into ORR’s foster program in the spring of 2025. I think I am 7 years young now. I am used to living alone so it takes me a while to trust, however, if you rub my ears and scratch my butt I will conveniently forget that I was thinking about avoiding you.

My foster mom says that I am a “hale and hardy little fella”, I recuperated quickly after the vet removed my “you know whats.” She says that I am a little neater with my litter habits since then, but I do still love to throw my hay around, we don’t want to make things too easy for her. I don’t chew on cords, walls, or furniture but my Foster Mom put an x-pen along the wall where the computer is plugged in, I guess maybe she also needs a little time to trust.

Once in a while I venture out of my pen area and I like a little trail of mats or carpeting, I avoid slippery floors. I am a picky eater so if you adopt me you will need to know my favourite brand of hay and you can NEVER run out of bananas. I will periscope or do a little zoomie for ‘nanners!”
