Ella's Story

Ella is an active rabbit who loves having plenty of space to run around! In her foster home, she has a room all to herself, but that doesn't stop her from going up on her hind legs when someone walks by to kindly ask that she get let out to go explore the rest of the house. And when she does get to explore, she'll show her excitement with lots of binkies! Then she will go room to room to inspect for any changes and to play with the curtains before having a well earned break.

During her downtime, Ella can most often be found sitting on an office chair that's tucked under the desk for maximum privacy. She also likes to hang out under or on the bed. Like the best of curious buns, Ella loves to get into mischief when she can find it. She's been known to hop on the desk to knock things down or search for fabric that needs a little nibble.

Ella loves to be pet, especially nose and ear rubs. Sometimes she even likes full body pets. Lately she's been good about being picked up when needed (such as for nail trims). Some days Ella is happy to hang out independently and will grunt to let you know she's having a day all to herself.

Ella would most likely prefer the single-bun life, though she could potentially bond to a particularly low-key male rabbit who will let her be in charge.

Her litter box habits are very good, though she sometimes likes to pull the hay out of the litter box to eat it, then poop on the pile when she is done. It's one of her adorable quirks that shows off that she has a big personality!

She gets her pellets in toys like snuffle mats and balls to keep her mind busy, and to slow down how fast she eats pellets. The way to her heart is through her stomach! She can often be heard binkying and racing around when she hears her foster waking up and getting ready to bring breakfast. She is also a fantastic hay eater.

It has now been almost 4 years that Ella has been in foster care. In that time, 20 other rabbits have passed through the same foster home on their way from being dumped rabbits to moving on to forever families. We’re not sure how Ella hasn’t been chosen yet, but we do know she truly deserves to find a forever family to call her own. If she sounds like she’d be a good fit for your family, we’d love to make it her turn to be chosen!
