Dottie's Story

Dottie was surrendered to DuPage County Animal Services when her family of 8 years had to move out of the country. Don't let her size fool you- there is a big personality living in a tiny package! At first, Dottie was reluctant to interact with people, but after settling into a foster home she has thrived and felt safe enough to come out of her shell. Dottie is a pretty, petite, and playful senior rabbit. Dottie is a proper lady in that she keeps a near perfect litter box. She loves her pellets and enjoys them even more when they are hidden in her stacking cups. Dottie likes to nap and relax on top of any hidey box you provide for her.

Dottie certainly makes herself at home once she comes out of her enclosure. She is a curious gal who likes to find the perfect spot to spend her day. She believes every bun can happily coexist with all the occupants of the home. Dottie will hop onto the sofa and welcomes pets when the mood strikes her right. Dottie will never keep you guessing as to how she feels about the moment. She will grunt if you have crossed a boundary which is not to be confused with her subtle snorts of pleasure. This tiny bundle has learned that life is too short not to be direct and take charge. She will make you giggle as she hops with determination across the room when you have a treat or salad to serve her. She runs up and welcomes visitors when they come into the room or near her pen.

Dottie is looking for a low key calm yet compelling household where she can spend her retirement. She gets along with cats, and can be a single bunny in the right environment with sufficient interactions. Dottie would be a great companion for anyone who works or attends school during the day - she will get her beauty rest, and then you both can share the details of your day in the evening.

Dottie is spayed and vaccinated for RHDV2.
