Daphne's Story

Meet Daphne This brave little bunny was first spotted darting around the City Hall parking lot. After a few tricky weeks, a kind and skilled rabbit rescuer helped us safely trap her — and we couldn’t be more grateful. Since coming indoors, Daphne has settled beautifully into the good life. She’s thriving on a healthy, consistent diet and is often caught doing joyful binkies next to her bunny neighbor, John Snow. Daphne is about 4 months old, has had a wellness exam, and is vaccinated. She will be spayed and microchipped at 6 months of age. In the meantime, we’re looking for a foster-to-adopt home where she can continue to blossom. New Westminster Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN AN ANIMAL, please submit an application form. This is the FIRST step in the adoption process. Please do NOT email us just to express interest. https://www.newwestcity.ca/services/animal-services/animal-shelter Our animals have unique personalities and needs. Our goal is to find the most suitable home for them and the most suitable pet for you. We make every effort to place animals in “forever” homes so they don’t find themselves back in a shelter. They’ve already lost their home once, and we don’t want them to go through that again. All applications are reviewed by two shelter staff members. We also conduct a phone interview, at which time we will address any questions or concerns you may have. Typically, we are able to inform applicants within 72 hours. If your application has been approved, we will then schedule a time for you to come pick up your new family member!
