Clementine & Quince's Story

Hi everyone we are the bonded pair of Clementine and Quince. We have a bit of a sad back story that we would like to share with you. We were purchased from a pet store and we are opposite sexes, so you know what happened shortly thereafter. A baby was born but as the baby grew fighting started happening so the baby was taken away for safekeeping. That one baby was spayed and has already found her forever home.

We were both spayed and neutered by the previous owner but we were being housed in the basement of the company she worked for. She was let go from her job and left us behind. The owner finally wanted us gone and calls started going out to rescues or shelters who would take us. We were in horrible shape with severely overgrown nails and feces caked to us underneath. We at the rescue were shocked when they arrived and although we normally want the buns to settle in a bit as change is very scary the smell nearly knocked us off our feet.

We both received a manicure and pedicure that was long overdue an Clementine the larger female was in worse condition than the male Quince (smaller grey bun) We immediately had to give a butt bath to loosen all the fecal matter that she had no way of removing herself. Part of the issue besides their previous diet was also that Clementine is obese. She has lost some weight since arriving however still needs to lose more for her to be in a place we are comfortable with.

These two are very very bonded and are never very far from each other. They have a clean bill of health and are finally eating a proper diet of Oxbow Adult Rabbit Pellets, lots of timothy hay and a big bowl of fresh water that is cleaned and filled daily.

Now we just need to find a home that will see how wonderful we are and give us the attention and care we should have always received. We have wonderful litterbox habits and are very sweet and affectionate. We are not always thrilled to be picked up but we absolutely love gentle petting and we are huge fans of treats. We have to be careful in the rescue giving treats as we are still hoping to have Clementine lose at least an additional lb. Does not sound like much but one full lb on a small animal is actually quite alot.

Would you consider opening your heart and home to a sweet pair like us?
