Cece & Ruby's Story

We’re Cece and Ruby, very sweet dwarf rabbits with a lot of love wrapped in tiny cuteness! We are bonded sisters and are five years old looking for the perfect forever home!

Hi, I am Cece and I have different personalities depending on the situation. During Hoppy Hour, I love to run around and explore and I am ok with other rabbits approaching me. When my foster parents brought me to their home, I was more skittish and let my sister, Ruby, explore things first to let me know if the areas were safe. As I am allowed to roam about, I may not be quick to notice the gate has been opened, I venture out slowly, but when I hear an unfamiliar sound, I am quick to return to the safety of my hidey-hole. I am used to the cat inspecting me and saying hi, but I would prefer if it was just Ruby and I.

Hi, I am Ruby, and I too have acted different depending on my surroundings. During Hoppy Hour I try to find the nearest box to hide under, or a current to try and make everyone think I have disappeared. In my foster’s home, I love to explore and I am the first to dart when the gate is open. The cat sibling says hi and I tolerate his sweet pat on my head throughout the day. I let the cat know when I am done running about by thumping, and the cat takes the hint. I too would prefer if it was just CeCe and myself.

We both love cilantro, a tiny carrot every once and awhile, mint, and green lettuce. Our foster parents would love to give us fruit, but we have sensitive stomachs when given fruit or too many fruit-hay treats in a week. We can be brushed in your lap if we are on one of our blankets. Taking the time to hand feed us will help us warm up to you. We are a little reserved, but with patience and persistence we will come around.

If you think we sound interesting, send an email to MCRS at --> info@mncompanionrabbit.org

You can complete an application at --> https://www.mncompanionrabbit.org/adoption-application

All MCRS rabbits are sterilized and vaccinated against RHDV2. Thank you for your interest in adopting a homeless rabbit!

Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society's Adoption Policy
Rabbits available through the Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society are all homeless rabbits taken in through partnerships with local animal shelters and animal control facilities. The rabbits have been examined by veterinarians, are sterilized and are currently cared for by private foster homes. The goal of the MCRS adoption program is to match these rabbits with families like yours to best accommodate the needs and interest of both. The MCRS adoption process includes an application, a phone interview, and a meeting with the rabbit(s) you are interested in. The adoption fee for a single rabbit is $100 (plus tax), and a bonded pair fee is $165 (plus tax). This fee is nonrefundable because adoption fees help to cover costs involved in caring for a rabbit prior to his/her adoption. Each rabbit receives RHDV2 vaccinations and spay/neuter surgery. In addition to daily care, foster rabbits benefit from socialization and litter-box training during their stay with MCRS. We are located in the Twin Cities metro area in Minnesota. We do not ship rabbits and must meet all adopters in person. If you are interested in adopting a rabbit, please email us to receive an application and other rabbit adoption and care materials. Thank you for your interest in adopting a homeless rabbit!
