Cantaloupe's Story

Cantaloupe is a gorgeous, glossy black rabbit who was found as a teeny tiny baby living outside with her mother, Honeydew.

Cantaloupe started off as shy, but wow, she has gained so much confidence in her time with us! She will run up to her caregivers when they enter the room, hoping for some yummy treats!

She loves to run around and explore, but also stretches out for a nice nap when she’s ready to relax. She enjoys gobbling up her hay and pellets, and nibbling on fresh greens. She is very good at using a litterbox.

Cantaloupe seems to prefer being the only rabbit, so if you’re looking for a solo bunny buddy, then she’s the girl for you!

Sadly, Cantaloupe has been returned from adoption through no fault of her own. Her family was experiencing some big life changes and were no longer able to care for her. She’s a wonderful bunny who deserves a stable, loving home where she can truly settle in for good.

Cantaloupe is in good overall health. She has been vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed, and she is approximately 4 years old.

Application below:
https://www.newwestcity.ca/services/animal-services/animal-shelter

Please research rabbit care! New Westminster Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN AN ANIMAL, please submit an application form. This is the FIRST step in the adoption process. Please do NOT email us just to express interest. https://www.newwestcity.ca/services/animal-services/animal-shelter Our animals have unique personalities and needs. Our goal is to find the most suitable home for them and the most suitable pet for you. We make every effort to place animals in “forever” homes so they don’t find themselves back in a shelter. They’ve already lost their home once, and we don’t want them to go through that again. All applications are reviewed by two shelter staff members. We also conduct a phone interview, at which time we will address any questions or concerns you may have. Typically, we are able to inform applicants within 72 hours. If your application has been approved, we will then schedule a time for you to come pick up your new family member!
