Brown Sugar - Fostered in El Cerrito, CA's Story

Meet Brown Sugar (Sugar for short)! Just like her name, she sure is sweet! Cautious and observant by nature, this smart cookie will make sure you pass her multi-faceted friendship test before opening up to you. And when she does, it's truly the most gratifying feeling in the world. So here are some test question cheats!

Sugar has three main loves of her life. Routine, food and her pink towel.

Routine: Having a predictable routine allows Sugar to feel comfortable and safe to come out of her shell. We feed her twice daily at the same time, and Sugar is always eagerly waiting for us outside of her den. If you're lucky, she'll do some excitement zoomies and stand up like a Meerkat to reach for food! And after dinner, Sugar will come out of her den to "hangout" with us for the rest of the night. Sometimes I swear she watches TV.

Food: There's nothing she hasn't chowed down yet! The leaf part of any greens are definitely her favorite (she always eats that part first, then the stem), along with the occasional berry or piece of banana. She also loves to be handfed, and will hangout with you for hours if you hand her single blades of hay at a time.

Pink Towel: Last but not least, her third love, the pink towel. You'll often catch her burrowed inside of it like a cocoon, or playing with it by throwing/dragging it around her cage. She will politely accept other towels we give her, but won't burrow or play with them the same.

Brown Sugar is also very neat, and goes to the bathroom in the same spot. She's an adorably quirky and sweet bun, and with time and patience, I know you'll fall in love with her as much as we all have.

"Sugar" is currently fostering at a wonderful home in El Cerrito down in the Bay Area. Please reach out if you'd like to meet her.
