Meet Brie and Camembert

Cam and Brie came to us off the shelter euthanasia list after they’d been returned. They spent 7 years in their original home! They were returned at no fault of their own, and likely due to unforeseen circumstances forcing their family to rehome them.

This pair of senior buns aren’t letting these big life changes stop them from living large though! Brie is a bigtime cuddlemonster, coming up to her foster parents to ask for treats and pets. Cam is a little more regal, preferring to stick to his own space and thump at humans nearby. Both of them are quite sassy, and are not afraid to show us when they’re in a mood lol!

Both Cam and Brie are excellently tempered with people, and even very polite within their fosters home. Buns are well-known to chew on cords and dig up carpet, but these two have yet to misbehave. They love free roaming their house and haven’t chewed a single cable or baseboard! While we are always prepared for possible mischief, this couple are pleasantly surprising us everyday with their calm demeanor. They would be a great match for a new rabbit family, and possibly for one with older children as well.

This hoppily married couple are seniors, and it does show in their health. While neither of them appear to have serious medical conditions, they both seem to have arthritis and need extra care regarding that. We are currently waiting to have them seen by our vet for bloodwork, possible injections to help with their arthritis, and to be started on probiotics and supplements. They currently receive daily pain medication, which has drastically improved their energy levels! Ever since starting them, Brie is constantly having zoomies and binkies all over her foster home, just like a young bun. Cam is also much more active, and does his best to keep up with his wife (although he’s arguably a little more stiff haha).

Cam is an Angora mix rabbit, and requires a quick daily brushing and monthly full grooming to maintain his gorgeous coat. His joints are more stiff than his wife, so reaching all of his fur is quite difficult for him! While Cam doesn’t love snuggles, he is very well behaved during grooming with us.

Brie maintains her coat a little better than her husbun, but she really appreciates a gentle brushing to get rid of shed and sometimes needs a wiping around her bum. Being an old bunny is hard! Just like her man, Brie is a sweet girl during grooming and gives us no trouble besides a big angry thump once she’s put down lol!
