Hello, my name is Bowie.

2 months ago, my mom put me outside and didn’t let me back in.

I stayed by my hutch for a long time, waiting. I thought maybe she forgot. I thought maybe if I was patient, she’d come back for me.

She didn’t.

So I stayed close to the neighbor’s houses instead, hoping I might see her again.

I went through everything out there. Rain, snow, freezing nights, hot days. I was scared all the time.

Ticks covered my neck like a necklace.

I was so lonely that I even tried to make friends with a raccoon.

The neighbors tried to help me. They caught me more than once and brought me back, thinking I belonged there.

But every time, I was let go again.

Yesterday, everything changed.

I came to Dolly’s.

The ticks are already starting to fall off. I’m safe. I’m warm. I don’t have to be scared anymore.

But my brother is still out there.

The ticks are already starting to fall off. I’m safe. I’m warm. I don’t have to be scared anymore.

But my brother is still out there.
