Bluejay's Story

Bluejay, an intelligent and curious boy with soft white fur, is an excellent officemate/housemate. Bluejay has lovely BLUE eyes and a gray smudge on his nose. Bluejay is active in the morning and at night where he will often delight you with a series of binkies (bunny jumps and leaps); yet, spends most of the day quietly relaxing in his cardboard hideout in a home office. Bluejay has a fine appetite and can easily bond with his person from hand feeding greens and treats. He has excellent litter box skills.

Bluejay is extra intelligent and benefits with routines and stimulation such as toys and games. He loves to chew things so chew toys and supervision are needed when out and about. The trick to happiness is to ensure there are plenty of safe and suitable items available for chewing like cardboard boxes, willow baskets and chew sticks while bunny proofing cords and placing some barriers to keep him from other areas where he can get into mischief. Typical of most bunnies, he is not a huge fan of hard wood floors, though he will occasionally venture out when curiosity gets the better of him, and a few well placed rugs/runners will make all the difference to provide a circuit for running about.

Bluejay is enamored with cardboard boxes. Whether it’s hiding and or relaxing, chewing, and even occasionally climbing on, they are a must have for this bunny. A cardboard fort with different levels, places to hide and look outs would be a great family project for him! He would love to have his very own bunny castle!

Bluejay is fond of affection; he will let you know when he wants to be petted, often by delivering a gentle nudge and he will also let you know when he has had enough, by hopping away. Give him some time and you will have an almost perfect quiet and supportive family member and office-mate, albeit one that sheds.
