Blanche's Story

Blanche has had a rough start. We're not sure where she came from originally, but it seems clear she was intended for the table (she's a meat breed). She likely wasn't handled a lot early on. Blanche is a sweet rabbit, she's an easy keeper, very quiet and observant. She's not a fan of being handled, and we respect that.
She hides in the corner most of the time when we give her food and water. She loves getting piles of fresh grass and weeds in the summer. She's come a long way from the aggression she had when she first arrived. She will still grumble sometimes if we take too long refilling her water bowl, but otherwise she's been neutral. She's not an attention seeker. She just wants to be left alone. She's always watching what's going on around her. Blanche is a good "look at me" pet, but will need more work to be a "touch me" pet. We are guessing Blanche was born in the summer of 2022, making her about three years old. She is not spayed, though we highly encourage her adopter to get this done to help with her hormones/temperament. Her adoption fee is $30 + a refundable* $20 spay deposit ($50 total) to an approved indoor pet-only (non-breeding) home.

*Spay deposits are refundable if proof of surgical sterilization is returned within 30 days of adoption.
