When our handsome big baby boy Kiwi was found in Queensborough in May 2025 at about 11 months old, we had a feeling he might be her perfect match. Once he was vaccinated and finished his quarantine, these two became fast friends — and they’ve been inseparable ever since! This dynamic duo is litter trained, social, and ready to hop right into your heart and home. If you’re looking for twice the love (and twice the cuteness), Astrid and Kiwi are your pair. New Westminster Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN AN ANIMAL, please submit an application form. This is the FIRST step in the adoption process. Please do NOT email us just to express interest. https://www.newwestcity.ca/services/animal-services/animal-shelter Our animals have unique personalities and needs. Our goal is to find the most suitable home for them and the most suitable pet for you. We make every effort to place animals in “forever” homes so they don’t find themselves back in a shelter. They’ve already lost their home once, and we don’t want them to go through that again. All applications are reviewed by two shelter staff members. We also conduct a phone interview, at which time we will address any questions or concerns you may have. Typically, we are able to inform applicants within 72 hours. If your application has been approved, we will then schedule a time for you to come pick up your new family member!
