Willie Miniature Pinscher & Chihuahua Mix South Portland, ME

Willie is a 9 year old Miniature Pincher/Chihuahua mix. He has been the well-loved pet of a couple for the last 8+ years, but sadly, both of his humans have passed on, & he is looking for a new home. Willie weighs about 12 pounds.

This little guy loves his food, snuggling, and naps in the sun. He enjoys playing with dogs that he knows, especially those who are about his size. He can be fearful of larger dogs and those he doesn’t know. No cats for this pup, and he is a bit fearful and sometimes grumpy with children.

This little guy is exceptionally loving. He adores belly rubs! His foster mom has given him a bath and a nail trim, and he was very good for them.

Willie is house-trained, crate-trained and he doesn’t dig or climb fences. He is good about coming when called. He doesn’t require too much exercise. He likes his walks around the yard, but is a little nervous on neighborhood walks. He LOVES car rides and rides very well.

Willie is can be timid, or anxious. He is nervous around strangers, and will bark when they are at a distance & act submissive when they are up close, but he’s friendly to visitors he knows.

This adorable dog is looking for someone who will be understanding of what it’s like to be a little guy, and will give him plenty of snuggles and soft places to sleep in the sunshine. Could that be you?

Willie is available for adoption through Almost Home Rescue of Maine. We require vet references and a home visit for adoption approval. All Adoption applications are completed on line at www.almosthomerescue.net

Our adoption fee includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm / lyme / erlichea tests,worming, flea preventative and transport costs. Many other rescues do not include all the above in their adoption fees.

Adoption fee:
Under 7 months: $400
7 months to under 6 years: $350
6 years and under 9 years: $275
9 years and older: $200
Bonded pairs are $450 up through age 9.
Over age 9 bonded pairs are $250
