Eastwood was spotted roaming in a field next to a busy highway for two weeks. Any attempts to catch him were futile. Finally, after spending hours coaxing him and crawling to him on the ground, one of our animal control officers was successful in rescuing Eastwood.

According to his foster home, "He is housetrained, kennel trained and ok with cats. He walks well on a harness and leash. He plays very well with other dogs at the dog park. He is much more confident now and eager to please. He has plenty of play in him!"

This boy also spent some time up in the front office with staff to help him develop trust in people and gain confidence. It hasn't taken much to realize that this young boy is very lovable and so much more at ease now that he is in a safe place. He will come to you when you speak sweetly, and he loves to give kisses. Eastwood is 1 -2 years old and weighs 39 pounds.

Eastwood is young, a little clumsy and mouthy. We are working with a trainer to curtail these behaviors but we recommend a home without young children while he learns his manners. Formal obedience is also recommended.

The Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter adoption fee is $67. The adoption fee includes vaccinations, mandatory spay/neuter, heartworm test, and microchip.
