Meet Jill

Cute little Jill was an owner surrender directly to the Humane Society when her original family could not pay for her basic vet care. She is happy, energetic, and loves people. She visited the Humane Society office and did well with a 10 month old Dachshund, investigated, but did not chase the office cats, and did not make a peep when she was given her puppy shots. She would like to be with you and play! She is with adults, children and other dogs. She has also been around a larger lab mix puppy. Jill is outgoing and loves to carry toys around in her mouth. She checks in with people, but then is content to move and play with her toys. She is not needy. She is ready for her forever home. Jill weighed 3.10 lbs. at about 3 months old, and will remain a small dog when full grown. Her approx. birthdate is Aug. 3rd, 2015. She has long wavy fur and looks a little like a very cute dust mop! Jill is current on all of her first puppy shots and has been wormed. If Jill sounds right for you, please fill out an adoption application. Her adoption donation will be $175 with $75 returned to you upon proof of her spay at 6 months. It also includes a reduction in puppy obedience classes if you are so inclined. Thank you for your interest in Jill!

Dog Adoption Guidelines:

You must fill out an application to be considered for adoption. You can fill out an application at www.forthepets.org/adoption.htm or email to humanesociety@murray-ky.net for an application.
It is not a "first come" process; we try to "match" the dog with the family for a FOREVER home. We process all applications at once and take the dog off the site, place on adoption pending status until a decision is made. If a suitable home is not found, the dog returns to active status.
The dog adoption process can take about two weeks; we are a small group of volunteers who have full time jobs.
All of our dogs are indoor dogs with outdoor privileges, unless otherwise specified.
We do not fly or ship our dogs due to heat/cold concerns and safety issues. If you are willing to fly out AND fly the dog back in the cabin (size restrictions) with you, that would be considered.
If you apply to adopt a dog and are chosen, you must come to Murray, KY to pick up the dog and fill out the paperwork in person.
We do adopt out-of-state, but we do not transport.
We can't provide individual "meet and greet" sessions for each applicant. If chosen to adopt, you will have time to visit with the dog before signing any paperwork and will not be committed to adopt if you choose not to at that time.
