Hi! My name is Gail! I am a retriever mix, 50 lbs, and around 7 or 8 years old. My family in KY took me to the shelter because I had what looked like a very large tumor on my belly. My foster mom saw my intake picture at the shelter and knew that I needed help so I came right away on transport up to Illinois! Turns out I had TWO hernias, not a tumor, and they were repaired and I was spayed. Now I feel GREAT! I am so thankful for the rescue and my foster mom for giving me the medical care I needed right away! I have one more obstacle to overcome though... I have heartworm. I am not contagious, but everyone should have their dog on heartworm preventative because this is totally preventable! I am almost finished with my heartworm treatment. The rescue is paying for the treatment, so there is no additional cost for you. I don't have any symptoms and I will be completely cured, I don't want you to be worried about me. I am a happy, happy girl who loves to be near my people. I'm a really good girl and have made friends with the other foster dogs, the resident dogs, and the resident cat! I sit for treats too! Like a typical retriever, I LOVE everybody. :) I know you will love me too when you meet me.

The adoption fee of $300.00 includes spay, hernia repairs, heartworm treatment, microchip, and current distemper combo and rabies vaccinations.
