Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a foster to adopt alternative for cats and kittens that have been the victims of abuse, neglect, and abandonment in Jackson County, WV.
We encourage spay & neuter of all pets and strive to end animal cruelty.
Adoption Policy
Note: Once you submit an adoption application, please keep an eye on your email! We primarily use for our application follow up communications.
Adoption Fees: Our adoption fee is $50 unless a reduced fee is indicated. If you adopt 2 together, our adoption fee is $75 for both (check listings for pairing suggestions).
Our application processing consists of 2 phases:
1. Initial Review: This is a quick overview looking for missing information, information we want clarification on, and potential compatibility issues for the specific cat you applied for (ie: an extremely shy cat typically does not do well in an active home with several children). If any additional information is needed, or we have questions/concerns we will email you to address these.
2. Comprehensive Review: During this stage of application processing, we contact references, ect. We reserve the right to request a home visit though may or may not do so.
Once your application is approved, the cat/kitten you are approved for will be placed on hold for you, but may or may not be able to head home with you immediately. We do require cats/kittens to be spayed/neutered before they leave us. In the case of kittens, they need to be at least 8 weeks old and 2 lbs. for spay/neuter. Our vet also tends to be booked up for spay/neuters 2-3 weeks in advance so there is a waiting period between when we intake a cat/kitten and when we can book the cat/kitten in to the vet.
Distance Adoptions: We will do distance adoptions! We have access to a cat transport network spanning the lower 48 states and parts of Canada. However, not all our cats/kittens will be available for distance adoptions and transport tends to take about a month to arrange. Transport also requires a crate for the cat to travel in and other items and supplies to travel with the cat such as a litter box and food/water bowls. These items will be yours to keep following transport, as such, we require that you cover the cost of these supplies in addition to your adoption fee. This cost is due before we will start the process of arranging transport.
