Our Mission
The mission of the Monongalia County Canine Adoption Center (MCCAC) is to serve and protect both the dogs and residents of Monongalia County by providing humane care for stray, surrendered, and at-risk dogs, ensuring public safety, and working toward positive outcomes through adoption, education, and responsible pet ownership.
Adoption Policy
Adopters must be 18 years of age or older and provide a valid photo ID. Adoption applications are reviewed to help ensure a good match between the animal and adopter. All animals currently living in the adopter’s home must be spayed or neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Adoption fees apply and help offset the cost of care provided while the animal is in the shelter. MCCAC Shelter reserves the right to deny an adoption if it is determined the placement may not be in the best interest of the animal.
