We are proud professionals serving the people and animals of the Town of Tappahannock and Essex County, Virginia. Animal Care and Control assumes a unique position in the community. We must combine the activities of law enforcement, protecting citizens and their interests, public health responsibilities, protecting citizens from the dangers and diseases of animals, education and animal welfare.
Adoption Policy
TECAS does not do same day adoptions. Your application is reviewed for adoption, and we will return a telephone call to the applicant usually within 72 hours to let you know if you have been approved or denied.
