Galax Carroll Grayson Animal Shelter

The Galax-Carroll-Grayson Animal Shelter provides services for three different animal control agencies. We are an open-admission, managed-intake shelter, meaning we accept animals by appointment from the areas we serve but must sometimes make difficult euthanasia decisions when space becomes limited. We humanely euthanize medically or behaviorally compromised animals that we cannot treat or rehabilitate within our resources. We strive to ensure that every animal entrusted to us is given the quality of life they deserve, our mission is to provide compassionate care and shelter to homeless, abandoned, and surrendered dogs and cats in our community. We are committed to protecting their well-being, finding them loving forever homes, and promoting responsible pet ownership through education, outreach, and community partnerships. With every dog and cat we rescue, we strive to create a safer, more humane region for animals and the people who love them.
