Our Mission

Mystic Acres Animal Rescue & Sanctuary is a branch of DFW GSR. We are an all-breed animal rescue located in the DFW area. We take in animals of all species and help place them with families that are looking for companions. We do have a short application process to make sure we place each animal in just the right homes. We opened our doors in 2011 to the German Shepherds of North Texas. DFW GSR is currently closed to all in-take. We are in the process of relocating and building new facilities so that we can continue to help the dogs in North Texas. All intake of GSDs is on hold until we are completely relocated and able to take on breeds such as GSDs. Adoption Policy

We screen all potential fosters and adopters with the goal of ensuring the best outcome for all. Adopting an animal in our program requires the completion of an application. Personal & Vet references, along with Landlord reference if renting, will be checked. GSDs are loyal, devoted and protective companions but not necessarily the best breed for everyone. We also strive to educate the public on the requirements of the breed. The dogs in our care have been through enough major life changes & emotional hardship.
