Our Mission
"Shallow Ridge Exotics is a nonprofit animal rescue and sanctuary in Springtown, Texas. We rescue and care for birds and provide a safe, peaceful sanctuary for Sulcata tortoises. Every animal receives compassionate care, proper nutrition, medical attention, and a safe place to heal and thrive. Our goal is to give animals in need a second chance and ensure they are treated with kindness, dignity, and respect. We also help educate our community about responsible animal ownership and proper care. When appropriate, healthy birds are placed for adoption to find loving forever homes."
Adoption Policy
**Adoption Policies – Shallow Ridge Exotics**
At Shallow Ridge Exotics, our priority is the lifelong health, safety, and well-being of every animal entrusted to our care. We believe adoption is a lifelong commitment, and we work carefully to ensure each animal is placed in a safe, loving, and suitable home.
All prospective adopters must complete an adoption application. Applications are reviewed based on the animal's individual needs, the applicant's experience, living arrangements, and ability to provide appropriate long-term care. Additional information, photographs of enclosures, or a home evaluation may be requested.
Adoption approval is not guaranteed. Shallow Ridge Exotics reserves the right to decline an application if a placement is not believed to be in the animal's best interest.
We do not ship animals. All adoptions require local pickup within the DFW area and surrounding counties, with arrangements coordinated through our rescue.
Some animals in our care may require continued rehabilitation or may remain permanent sanctuary residents due to their age, health, or individual needs.
Our hope is not simply to find animals a home, but to help them find the right home where they can receive the care, patience, and compassion they deserve.
