Friends of Rescue Animals

Friends of Rescue Animals (FRAs) is more than just an animal welfare organization—we’re a movement of compassion in action. Founded in 2004 by four dedicated volunteers with a shared dream of helping animals at the Rowlett Animal Shelter, FRAs has grown into a vibrant team of over 450 volunteers making a difference across North Texas. Today, we proudly support four municipal shelters -- Rowlett, Garland, Richardson and Sachse -- and operate our own foster-based cat rescue program. We help homeless pets find loving homes faster. Our cats are available for adoption at three local PetSmart stores -- Rowlett, Rockwall and Wylie.
