Adoption Policy
Submitting your application – that's Step 1
Step 2: Group Text Introduction
We’ll start a group text chat with the dog’s foster or rescuer. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and get to know more about the dog. If you'd like, we can also set up a video meet-and-greet through our phones for a more personal connection.
Step 3: Virtual Home Visit
We'll schedule a Google Meet or FaceTime call to virtually tour your home. We'll need to see common living areas and the yard—no need to show bedrooms. Please have a piece of mail with your address visible during the call. After this step I will call your references.
Step 4: Adoption Contract
Once everything checks out, I’ll submit your application to the board along with my recommendation for approval. While the final decision is up to them, they typically go with my recommendation.
Step 5: Final Details
This step includes a conversation about ownership, adoption fees, any applicable deposits, and transport arrangements (if needed) could be 5-30 days depending on time frame.
