Our Mission

The Calico Coalition is a nonprofit feline rescue based in Austin, Texas, dedicated to saving medically fragile and special needs cats and kittens. We believe a cat's adoptability is not defined by disability, but by its ability to live a fulfilling life with proper care and support. We strive to raise awareness about feline medical and psychological disorders, reduce stigma, and normalize specialized pet care. We believe every cat deserves to be valued, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.

Adoption Policy

We require a Foster-To-Adopt trial for any cat or kitten regardless of their needs, if any. We offer a standard duration of 2 weeks for healthy cats/kittens and a 4 week minimum duration for special needs cats/kittens before finalizing the adoption. Case-by-case timeline extensions are available too. Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be 21+ years old, Submit a Foster To Adopt Application, phone call with TCC, home visit, and documentation to show that existing pets are spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations. If the Foster to Adopt trial is successful, then adoption is finalized, and a standard adoption contract is signed. If the cat is deemed not a good fit, then the cat is returned, and feedback is collected to improve placement. Upon signing this application, I certify that the information provided is true and complete. I understand that submission of this application does not guarantee approval . I acknowledge The Calico Coalition may perform a phone-call, home-check or follow-up conversation. I also acknowledge that TCC reserves the right to decline applications without explanation.
