Our Mission
The specific purposes of Space City Cats shall be the prevention of cruelty to animals, beginning with, but not limited to, the rescue and care of stray, abandoned, severely neglected, abused, sick, and injured animals in and around Houston, Texas; the vaccination and sterilization, when appropriate, of such animals; the securing of good homes for such animals; educating humans about the proper care and feeding of such animals; and educating the general public about the plight of stray, abandoned, severely neglected, abused, sick, and injured animals.
Adoption Policy
MINIMUM ADOPTION AGE OF 21
Potential adopters fill out an adoption application. We then call the potential adopter to conduct a 15 minute phone interview. If approved, potential adopter signs a sleepover agreement, makes a $95 refundable deposit, and picks up the cat for a 10-day sleepover. If the cat is returned at the end of the sleepover, we refund the $95 deposit, If the sleepover results in an adoption, adopter signs adoption contract.
