HPA!’s mission is to save dogs and cats at risk of euthanasia and find them loving homes, while preventing unwanted animals.
We’re not your average rescue. We act as a safety net for our municipal shelters, to save the animals who have no other options. Every day we receive a list of animals who are at risk of euthanasia. We save as many animals as we can, so long as we have the foster manpower for it. We know that saving lives is a community effort, and we’re committed to saving the lives that others won’t. We are committed to developing programs alongside our local shelters, and together, we will work to save even more lives.
When you find an animal you’re interested in, complete an adoption application at houstonpetsalive.org/adopt. You will be contacted within 24 hours of receiving your application. Completing an application neither guarantees nor binds you to an animal.
Once your application is approved, you can:
- (for dogs) attend our weekly adoption events – Saturdays* from 10am-6pm around the back of 2800 Antoine Drive (Note: you must have a completed adoption application to attend). *Occasionally a Saturday may be skipped. See our Facebook events page at facebook.com/houstonpetsalive14 for confirmed event dates (updated weekly).
- (for cats) visit one of our partner pet stores (locations listed at houstonpetsalive.org/adopt).
If it’s the right fit, you’ll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee: $75 for cats and $199 for dogs (some discounted rates may apply).
