Adoption Policy

Welcome to Homeless Animals Rescue Team. We are an independent, small, non-profit rescue group, based in Houston, Texas. Our goal is to place homeless animals into loving homes and families. We take special care to match the right home with the right dog, ensuring a lifetime of love for both the pet and the adopter. To ensure the best matches are made, we have a process that has been proven effective in determining the best homes for our animals. Our adoption process may seem time consuming or unnecessarily complicated, but please understand that we have our animals’ best interests at heart. We strive to find the best homes possible animals, as well as find the right dog/cat for you and your lifestyle. This information is giving to you, as a guide of our adoption process, and protocol. We are happy to see our animals going to the best forever home, but we want to assure, the family and the pet are the perfect match. Our dogs are mainly rescued from shelters, bad homes environments, and strays. We work hard to rehabilitate, socialize, and make them the best companion. They are not perfect trained animals, and sometimes, new environments take a little time to adjust. Patience is the best way to help the process, and we are going to be available to help the new family as best as we can. We can also suggest excellent and affordable trainer if you like to go a little further on enriching their social skills. We are a 100% spay/neuter rescue, which means ALL of our adoptable pets will be altered prior to adoption. We also require that your animals are altered as well. We exist because there are many homeless and neglected animals in the world that are in need and our way of working towards a No-Kill Nation is by requiring any of our foster &/or adoptive families to have altered pets. Any applicant that has an unaltered animal will be denied. All of the animals in our rescue are living in homes, with their foster families. This is an environment we prefer over a she
