Our Mission

Mazie’s Mission has a multi-tiered approach to animal welfare.

Our primary focus is the rescue hospital. We are the only veterinary clinic of it's kind in the country, serving only pets in the rescue system. We do not see privately owned pets.

The rest of Mazie's mission includes our community outreach programs, our rescue program, and our forensic veterinary medicine division. We want to do everything in our power to help the underserved, homeless, and abused pets in our area.

We started The Mission by rescuing as many special needs animals as we could, curing them, and placing them in forever homes. These animals were extremely ill pets or animals destined for euthanasia.

In January 2014 we opened the very first non-profit veterinary clinic that serves rescue organizations only. We are located in Frisco, Texas. The Mission desires to lease this facility short term while we are looking for appropriate land to build the permanent facility. We need ~10 acres to build an ‘Animal Headquarters’ that will become synonymous with animal welfare.

We are currently building our foster and adoption program back up after taking a few years off to open our veterinary clinic. Visit us at  www.maziesmission.org to learn about becoming a foster or volunteer. The more fosters and volunteers we have for adoption events, the more animals we are able to help!

***Please note that our location in Frisco is not an adoption facility. If you have any questions regarding pets available for adoption, please email us! The team at our hospital are completely separate from our adoption team and will not be able to answer any questions regarding available pets.

Adoption Policy

Opting to adopt is the best way to add a new furry family member.  Mazie's Mission has animals available for adoption, and animals in foster homes receiving medical care so that they can begin their adoption journey, too. Our adoption requirements are as follows:

-Adopters must be at least 21 years of age
-All existing pets in the home must be up-to-date on vaccines and spayed/neutered
-Existing dogs must be on heartworm prevention
-We do not do out of state adoptions

In addition to a brief veterinary reference, we also do a home visit to make sure the new pet gets along with all his or her new family members!
