Our Mission
Braver Hund Rescue is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit rescue that works to help dogs in shelters at risk of euthanasia get a second chance at a loving life.
Adoption Policy
Braver Hund Rescue’s foster screening process includes: completion of the application, 2 personal reference checks by phone, 1 veterinary check by phone and an in-person interview at the foster’s home if available. If not in the Corpus Christi area or out-of-state, we either have someone in the area do the home inspection and/or Facetime/Zoom with the foster. Braver Hund Rescue’s adoption screening process is the same as our foster screening process, although it includes more detailed information regarding the adopter’s ability to financially care for the animal and the expectation for the animal (companion, service dog, agility/dock diving, etc). During the adoption contract signing all information we have on the dog, all medical records, local trainer recommendation, a supply list (current food, kennel size, etc) is provided to the adopter. We also supply a small bag of the dog’s current food, any toys the dog has had and any other relevant supplies. We allow and encourage adopters to send updates and reach out for any advice for the lifetime of the dog. Braver Hund Rescue follows up with adopters as needed. So far, all our adopters send regular, monthly or so, photos and updates. Post-adoption we check-in after 3 days, 3 weeks and then 3 months. Adopters are always welcome to contact us for support.
