Our Mission
Haven Animal Rescue of Texas is a non-profit organization formed to prevent cruelty to animals by rescuing abandoned or homeless animals and subsidizing spaying and neutering as well as further vetting. We strive to help people obtain further education to provide the proper care for their pets and offer assistance to those needing a helping hand. Our goal is to help people find ways to properly care for and keep their pets even if they’ve fallen on hard times. Helping families find their perfect furry family member and dogs find their forever homes is our main goal for the abandoned, homeless, and neglected animals we save.
Adoption Policy
Requirements:
Current pets in the household must be up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered unless medically recommended to not be (proof from veterinarian required), and on prevention.
An appointment with your vet must be scheduled within the first week of obtaining your pet to establish relationship with well check visit and obtain prescription for prevention.
If at any time you are no longer able to keep your pet, by contract you must contact us so the pet can return to our care. You may not surrender or rehome your pet without contacting the rescue first to make arrangements.
Process:
Submit adoption application.
Phone interview to go over application, discuss pet, and establish contact with current foster/caretaker for additional details, pictures, and video of the pet.
Upon deciding to finalize the adoption, we will call your vet for reference.
Afterwards, adoption contract and fee invoice will be emailed for signature and deposit payment. Only half of the fee is due as a deposit in order to hold your pet and schedule transport. The final payment is due upon picking up your pet locally or when photos of your pet loading with the transporter are sent day of.
Transport is with trusted ground pet transporters and includes group chat and life 360 tracking for entirety of trip.
