Our Mission
The primary objectives of the Shelbyville Police Department’s Animal Care and Control Division is to protect and educate the public. Animal control officers protect the public by responding to dangerous animal calls and they educate the public about the rabies virus, altering domestic animals and local and state laws. When these objectives are achieved they in turn protect the animals as well.
Adoption Policy
1. Meet the animals. 2. Fill out an application 3. Application approved or denied based on if the animal interested in is a good fit for the adopter. 4. One on One with animal adopter is interested in. 5. Adoption fee, contract and voucher filled out if applicable. 6. Go home.
