We are a very small 501c3 foster home based cat rescue that focuses on cats with special needs as well as healthy cats and kittens. Please note that we do NOT take dogs! Intake and adoptions are done by appointment only. Healing Hearts is run by volunteers who foster the cats in their homes. We also have some cats available for adoption at the Madison PetSmart. Please email or text to schedule an appointment. We do take seniors cats, special needs cats and FIV positive cats in addition to healthy young adults and kittens. Healing Hearts takes strays, shelter cats and owner surrenders as our space and finances permit. Priority is given to cats who are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV and leukemia. At this time, we do not have room for ANY additional cats or kittens who have had no veterinary care.
If you cannot adopt but would like to help out our rescue kitties, please consider donating an item from our Chewy Wish list at the link below;

Please do not call us about adopting or surrendering a cat! Phone calls are unlikely to be answered or returned. Our director works full-time and cannot answer the phone when she is with clients. If you are interested in adopting a cat, please contact us by text message or email. You will be required to answer the screening questions first. Once you are approved, you can either go and meet your cat at PetSmart or schedule an appointment to meet the cat in the foster home if it is not ready to go yet. The adoption forms and contract can be completed either when you visit the cat in the foster home or when you meet the cat at PetSmart. You can also save time by completing the adoption application online at the link below. It should work on any device. Please make sure to list the name of the cat you are applying for.
We typically respond to adoption inquiries within one hour so please watch your email or text messages for a response.
